Sam,

I’m writing this letter because in this battle of what is right and wrong I feel that I need to express my concerns. I hope that you read this letter and take heed that there are others that feel this way and that ANY SEIU employee or steward can choose to do what is right at ANY time.

First, let me tell you how I feel about SEIU and your relationship with Kaiser. When I think about the battle that we are in it makes me think that SEIU is touching me inappropriately and Kaiser is allowing this to happen. I feel dirty when I think that SEIU won’t allow able minded people to have a democratic vote so that they can decide what they feel is best for them. Because of the inappropriateness of SEIU and Kaiser, I feel slimy and that I need to testify against SEIU and Kaiser in court so that they can be brought to justice.

Second, I can’t believe that Andy Stern and SEIU are SO power hungry that we can’t have a democratic vote. What is SEIU afraid of? Our country was founded on the fact that we have a democratic process. We still hold true to that today with the multitudes of political and social elections that we have in this country. So now, SEIU wants to take our constitutional right away from us, the right that so many Americans have given their blood, tears and lives for. What’s the worse that will happen, we find that NUHW is not the union for us and we choose, democratically of course, to come back to SEIU. We are the ones that have to eat crow, not you.

Thirdly, what right do you have to tell Kaiser that our 3/18/09 steward council has been canceled? We as stewards have ALWAYS made that democratic choice for the council. Steward council has ALWAYS been run by the stewards for the members. Not only did you inform Kaiser that it was canceled, you didn’t have the nerve to contact stewards YOURSELF to let us know. How dare you! I hope that you don’t run your family as a dictatorship as well. If you do, learn from us, IT DOES NOT WORK, WE WILL FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!

I hope that you forward this to ALL SEIU employees so that they can see that we WILL NOT quit until we have a DEMOCRATIC vote and a voice in OUR union.
