The reader believes that Cathy Brady in particular is doing double scab duty as a leading opponent of staff union organizing by her coworkers back in Philadephia. She's joined in Californiraq by her scab coworkers Robin Slater (left), and Carlos Rivera. At an upcoming "all staff meeting" to try to squelch organizing at the notoriously anti staff-union local, Cathy is expected to be a major mouthpiece for Tom DeBruin's successor Neal Bisno, who is apparently fighting the drive just as much as Tom did the last time staff tried to stand up for themselves.
Management has rejected the staff's card check recognition demand and is even balking at an NLRB run election, it seems because they want more time (in the usual union-buster fashion), to turn a card majority into a minority. Our source says that staff are doing well, and have plenty of support from the PA labor movement beyond SEIU, but that things are getting messier by the day.
Oh, and a little piece of trivia - it looks like Debruin's wife, Linda (who works with Robin Slater), is in the proposed staff union unit!
